Lay Summary: 

Participation in this trial is aimed at those currently enrolled in the main microbiome study and have completed the Resistant Starch (RS) or the MEND Trial in placebo arm or were removed from these studies due to early IBD disease flare. We want to give you the opportunity to receive the RS in this open label (no placebo) trial. This will allow us to continue our work to find out if the use of RS that is optimized for each individual will help alter and/or restore the “healthier” microbiome of the gut. It does not change the IBD treatment your doctor will use to treat your CD or UC. To do this, participants in this study will get RS.
